Hi everyone!

We are 3 Finnish girls studying in the University of Lincoln, but currently doing our Erasmus exchange in Alicante, Spain.

We moved to Spain last January and our stay here is going to last until the end of June.

Studying here in Alicante has been amazing! First time when we went to see the university we were a little bit worried because the campus is huge compared to our University in Lincoln. I heard someone saying that it is one of the biggest ones in Europe.

I’m (Jenny) studying International Tourism Management and Emmi and Vilma are studying International Business Management and we all agree that they are definitely offering interesting courses here for all of us. Our days here are little longer than in Lincoln, but once you get used to it, it’s okay! You can also plan your schedule yourself whether you want to study in the morning or during the evening times.

On the campus they also have a big sports centre. The whole semester will cost you only 45 euros and that includes gym, tennis courts, football arena, track and field, basketball courts, swimming pool and a lot more.

And of course the social life is really good here! In the University of Alicante they have hundreds of students coming from all over the world so it’s really easy to get new friends. Erasmus group is also organizing meetings and events almost every week and one of the most popular trip this semester was the Ibiza trip! When we are not at uni we are spending our time in the harbour or at the beach with our friends.

Easter break is almost 3 weeks long and most of the exchange students have used it to travel around the Spain or Europe! From Alicante, it’s really easy to get for example to Barcelona and to Madrid by train. Also you can fly from Alicante to Rome for just 19.90€. Doesn’t sound too bad, does it?

This experience has been one of the best ones in our lives and we wouldn’t change it for anything! We have met so many people around the world and we have made new friends for life! It will definitely be very sad to leave this place and our new friends, but I’m sure we’ll meet again!

Here’s few more pictures from Alicante…

There are surprisingly many festivals in Alicante through out the whole spring and summer time.
