Lincoln Business School is pleased to announce that Dr Chris Phelan joined us for the start of the new academic year as Lecturer in Tourism and Event Management. Chris joined us from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) where he taught across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate Tourism, Hospitality and Event modules. Chris also completed his PhD at UCLan which considered the entrepreneurial competencies of farmers who have diversified to tourism. His work has subsequently been presented at a range of UK and international conferences, as well as published in peer reviewed journals. Prior to returning to academia, Chris worked on a number of public sector regeneration and economic development projects in his native Lancashire and hopes to be able to bring these experiences to life in the modules he will teach at Lincoln. Chris’s teaching responsibilities will include both undergraduate and postgraduate entrepreneurship, strategic management for tourism and events, as well as our two newly developed final year modules which consider event legacies and sustainable event practices. We encourage students and alumni to connect with Chris as he establishes himself in this new role. He tells us he will be tweeting regularly at @_ChrisPhelan
