On Saturday 31st January 2015, 23 first year Events Management students travelled to Nottingham Theatre Royal to see One Man, Two Guvnors. The students were encouraged to attend as part of their current module, Business of Event Management which seeks to provide students with foundation knowledge of the events industry. The play which was performed by an energetic and talented cast from the National Theatre was directed by Richard Bean and was based on the 1743 play ‘Servant and Two Masters’ by Carlo Goldoni.

It is important to show students the variety of spaces, places and contexts which come together to create and recreate event settings. The theatre is an important part of this and for some students this field visit was their first ever trip to the stage. The play was a very humorous account of mistaken identity, love and farce which engaged audience members in very memorable ways. An enjoyable day out, for more information visit the play website: http://www.onemantwoguvnors.com/.
