Together with our 3rd year International Tourism Management students, we hosted the Tourism Students’ Virtual Conference 2017. This annual conference provides students the opportunity to showcase their papers to wider audiences, understand each others work and exchange knowledge about their specialist research areas.
Focusing on critical issues in tourism, this year’s conference theme was ‘Towards equal tourism participation and inclusive working environments: access, security and wellbeing‘. Student papers can be found here
Coordinated by Dr. Agnieszka Rydzik, the Virtual Conference is embedded within the ‘Social and Political Perspectives on Tourism’ module, where tourism students explore issues of participation in tourism taking into consideration gender, race, disability and age, issues of exclusion and tourism socialisation as well as tourism labour and workplace equality.
