On the 9th September 2015 our first ever cohort of BSc (hons) Events Management students graduated in Lincoln Cathedral. Out of the 33 graduates from the 2014/15 cohort 76% received a 2:1 degree classification or higher which demonstrates the excellent academic levels achieved. University of Lincoln events graduates are now working in a variety of sectors including events, weddings, corporate and higher education establishments. The Programme Leader of the Events Management degree, Hanya Pielichaty commented ‘we are very proud of our recent graduates who have set an extremely high academic benchmark for current students on the degree.’ It is thought that by 2020 the UK events industry will be worth £48.4 billion (Britain for Events, 2015) which illustrates the demand for graduates in this expanding sector.
