The objective of our trip was to experience what tourist destinations were prominent and sought after in York, and to decide whether these attractions were enough to satisfy a visitor travelling to York for the day. We arrived at the University of York and were briefed of our task. We started our day in York by walking through the city centre looking for an attraction to visit. We were torn between visiting the Chocolate Museum, the York Dungeons and the York minster.

Collectively we decided that we would all rather go to the York dungeons as it was Halloween and some of the group had already visited the Chocolate Museum. At first we were planning to get some food so we decided to try one of York’s famous Yorkshire wraps which are very famous on social media. Some of our group had seen the wrap being prepared on Facebook, and thought that it was an experience that needed to be had at York. We went to find this wrap at York roast co. The shop where the wrap was being served to see that there was a long queue of people that also wanted to try the delicacy. The wrap as we had expected was very enjoyable and a unique experience and a positive start to our day.

Our group then walked down the high street to find the York dungeons. We found the attraction and saw that it had a group of people crowding to get in. We lined up and bought our ticket with a student’s discount which thankfully brought the price down so we could all afford to attend the tour. The quality of the acting in the York dungeons was impressive as we were immersed in the history of York, which included the invasion of the Vikings, the panic caused by the plague, and the notorious Guy Fawkes. Overall we thought that the York Dungeons was good value for money, and that we did not regret our choice in what attraction we visited.
